Portland NOW is proud to share with you our annual report. 2025 saw strong growth and activation in the organization. It proved the truth: that when Portland neighbors celebrate their heritage and work together to create a future where our children flourish, we are being PORTLAND NOW. The key is how we spend our time in the NOW. The Portland Now neighborhood association believes the stories we tell about our neighborhood, the way organizations and individuals work together and support one another, the dreams we share and the small things we do to make our dreams become reality are the fundamental ingredients for building a beautiful and healthy neighborhood. This year-end report highlights a few of the ways Portland Now mixed these ingredients together to make 2025 an awesome year for Portland.
Portland NOW is happy to report that in 2025 we:
- Donated over $500 in back to school supplies to Portland Elementary
- Sent Board Member Rev. Lisa Harris to the West Jefferson County Community Task Force’s Environmental Justice Conference
- Donated $625 to offer free Dance Fitness to the Portland Community through Oula
- Provided $3,000 to renovate the Portland Gateway flower bed on 22nd and raised an additional $3,000 to maintain the project
- Sponsored the Portland Art and Heritage Fair hosted by the Portland Museum
- Sponsored the Trunk or Treat community event with the Portland Promise Center and the Portland Youth League
- Co-Sponsor of the Portland Youth League Christmas Party
- Provided Narcan training
- Provided Fire Safety Training
- Hosted a Community Cookout in the summer at the Portland Museum
- Partnered with Metro’s Lead Reduction Initiative
- Supported Second Step Recovery in their efforts to be code compliant
- Surveyed our neighbors to determine your biggest concerns for our community to determine how Portland Now can best serve the neighborhood in the future.
The members of Portland NOW are hoping more neighbors will join our neighborhood association in 2026 so we can dream together about our future and work together NOW to make more dreams come true in 2026.
