Forty years ago in October 1984 the Portland Anchor was much like it is today, with announcements of Halloween activities and even excitement around a new arts attraction: KentuckyShow! Kyros Brewing Co. Up for Sale After Passing One Year Anniversary
In 2017, Kyros owners Taylor Diaz and Nooch Saeedi sat in the old Engine 6 fire station at 2425 Portland Avenue, then the full-service home of Farm to Fork catering, after attending the Portland Art & Heritage Fair. They both fell in love with the building, and in 2022, with the encouragement of a close circle of friends, family and beer lovers, started making moves to turn their hoppy dreams into reality.
WELCOME TO WILD BISON BOULEVARD: Walk the Paths of Kentucky History with Us
Wild Bison Boulevard is a one-man art exhibition on October 6th, 2024 celebrating the crossing of America’s ancient herds of migratory bison from Indiana into Louisville, Kentucky at the base of the Great Falls of the Ohio River. The exhibition consists of an educational story trail stretching along the main walkway of the 56-acre Portland Wharf Park with 20 exhibits accompanied by narrative set of 120 walkway guideposts.
