Neighborhood House Serves Portland’s Young and Seniors Alike

It’s a Pathways Summer!

Recently, Pathways members wrapped up their four-week summer program. Over the last month they’ve met with local entrepreneurs, learned about different college and career opportunities, and had fun out and about on field trips around the city. During their final week, they went bowling at Clarksville
Strike and Spare and left their mark on Neighborhood House by painting their own ceiling tiles.

Pathways is Neighborhood House’s newest program and supports teens and young adults ages 16-24 as they find their own path to success. Learn more about joining Pathways by emailing Janelle at jhenderson@nhky.org.

Seniors Spending Time Together

On Saturday, 10 senior members took a trip to Shepherdsville! They first visited the Awesome
Flea Market where they could purchase items from a variety of vendors. After shopping, seniors
rounded out their day by enjoying lunch at Cracker Barrel.

Outings like this are important for our senior members–helping them stay connected to one another and their community!

Congratulations, Graduates

Neighborhood House recently celebrated 12 preschoolers during our annual graduation
ceremony. Graduates got dressed for the occasion in their caps and gowns and received their diplomas. After the ceremony, graduates and their families enjoyed a yummy lunch together! We can’t wait to see all they accomplish in kindergarten and beyond.

Neighbor Nite

Join us in August for Neighbor Nite on Thursday, August 21st from 5:30-7:00 PM.

This monthly event is fun for the whole family. Spend time with friends, family, and the neighborhood while hearing from community partners. A catered meal is provided! Neighbor Nite takes place at Neighborhood House on 201 North 25th Street.
