In late December the Delta Foundation was able to close on the purchase of the old Portland
Christian school building located at 2508 Portland Avenue. DELTA has provided free after
school programs and summer camps to West Louisville youth in the gymnasium since 2019
and now are developing the campus into an opportunity center for West Louisville residents.
The building consists of 16 classrooms which will be filled with nonprofits that offer youth
programming or community services.
Some of the current residents currently located on the property are PACT (Portland Avenue
Community Trust) which offers food and clothing giveaways every Thursday morning, the
ACE project which trains at-risk youth in the trades of painting and drywall. The longest
tenured tenant is the A-One Foundation which offers financial literacy and art programing to
area youth.
Since acquiring the property, the DELTA Foundation has painted the building both inside
and out and installed new tile floors and windows. If you are interested in donating or
