Forty years ago in August 1984 the Portland Anchor was filled front-to-back with “thank you”s from members of the Portland community regarding that year’s Portland Festival and Homecoming, but slotted in-between was this wonderful little treatise on the importance of bees! Given today where our environment is alarmingly dangerous for bees, colonies of which are disappearing at record-shattering rates, this sweet submission from Blossie Miller feels ahead of its time:
