Opening as part of the 13th annual Portland Art and Heritage Fair is Kindling, an exhibition of sculptures by Cincinnati based artist Clive Moloney utilizing organic materials including wood, plants, wild clay, and animal bones. Moloney has lived in the United States for the past 15 years but was born in Tipperary, Ireland and has exhibited his work in Taiwan, New Orleans, Boston, and beyond. His art practice is rooted in a deep relationship with the woodland surrounding his current home in Cincinnati and aims to inspire a sense of awe and responsibility for the beauty and complexity of the world around us. While installing Kindling Moloney spent a few nights here in Portland and was treated to our many beauties including trips to Janes Brothers and Save A Lot and an informal passenger-seat tour of the neighborhood.

Come see the exhibit for yourself at Portland Museum for free Wednesdays through Fridays from noon to 5PM, and Saturdays noon to 4PM. Special thanks to Garner LARGE Gallery for their contributions to this exhibition.
