Attend the next Portland Now meeting and be a part of the playful, yet strategic discussions we have about our “one-of-a-kind” neighborhood. Playful, because we always have fun talking about our love for Portland. Strategic, because we are determined to work together and share Portland’s great story with the rest of the world.
#10. I Love this neighborhood! It’s so full of character and characters. The historic homes are the opposite of a cookie cutter subdivision. You can go to Janes Hardware for pretty much anything, Annie’s for a great pizza, The Table for a farm to table lunch, and the Portland Museum for the latest fascinating exhibit. The city’s best playground and a world class skate park round out the neighborhood’s offerings.
#9. If “abandoned treadmill on a sidewalk” was an aesthetic, Portland would be its capital. It offers a unique, high-alert lifestyle for those who find peace and quiet a bit too “judgmental”. Entrepreneurship thrives with businessmen on the corner finalizing deals with just a handshake.
#8. I had a fantastic stay in Portland. The neighborhood’s history is rich and clearly a source of pride. In just a short time, I could tell that Portland is where diversity lives. Diverse architecture, a blend of commercial and nonprofit establishments. And, all kinds of people welcomed us. I’ll be back.
#7. So many amenities in the neighborhood: Library, indoor skate park, beautiful historic architecture, amazing 52-year-old festival, great pay what you can lunch spot, Louisville Loop, PlayPort Park for families, porch community where people know each other, Portland Museum, Portal Spot, vibrant, welcoming community, friendly faces, so much potential.
#6. Portland is like a yellow brick road; you never know what you will find.

#5. The old homes and buildings are cool to see. The people we encountered were mostly friendly, eccentric, and loud. We had a great stay and enjoyed the uniqueness of Portland.
#4. Best combo: bike path with river views and good train graffiti.
#3. Portland is strangely friendly with folks moving slowly, sitting on porches, enjoying life.
#2. At first it felt like a piece of candy, rough on the outside, sweet on the inside. As you linger, it becomes like chocolate wine; something you thought weird but just might be the best experience of a lifetime.
#1. ANYTHING BUT EHHH!
Plan now to join our next “playful yet strategic” discussion. We meet every first Tuesday of the month, 6:00 at Church of the Promise, 1800 Portland Ave.
