Portland Now Welcomes New Directors With Community Picnic
In June of every year, Portland Now has an annual meeting to elect a board of directors for the coming year. We are proud to announce that we added nine new directors this year, who will join the ten returning members. All of our Portland Now directors have strong ties to the neighborhood and a deep desire to work in collaboration with others to advocate for the common good of Portland.
Derby Artist Kicks Off Open Studio Event Series
Richard Sullivan, Portland resident and artist of last year’s Kentucky Derby poster, has recently taken a departure from his self-described title of “sports artist” with new work that’s bold, colorful, abstract and marks a new chapter is his growth as an artist.
Portland Artist Earns Coveted KDF Poster Commission
With Derby season already upon us, whenever you see this year’s Kentucky Derby Festival poster around town know that the artwork originated from a studio on Bank Street in Portland. The artist, Richard Sullivan, had been renting space at the Dolfinger building on Montgomery Street since 2016, but bought his new studio in 2020 and has lived and worked there ever since.
