Last November, owner Kaleigh Basso moved her Set & Setting book shop – located in the Portal at 1512 Portland Avenue – to a new location within the complex, now closer to the entrance and with the added upgrade of West Lou Coffee.
“We’ve had more people come in here,” Kaleigh said. “It’s been really great. We really want to build a community and a third space.”
Kaleigh said they have been hosting some gaming nights as well as craft and reading nights to bring people together. “People can work on designs, bring whatever they like to read or work on, just to get out of the house and hang out.”

As far as the coffee, West Lou Coffee is a specialty roaster located on west Broadway and provides simple coffee drip coffee and tea, no espressos or lattes. Kaleigh said that keeps it simple and affordable. They also offer assorted drinks and snacks.
Kaleigh added that they are going to spruce up the entrance on Portland Avenue by putting in a garden near the front entry, including vegetables and herbs.

Set & Setting is open 8am to 2pm Monday through Friday and 10am to 4pm on Saturday.
