The Portland Festival was an absolute dream this year, bringing our neighborhood together for an incredible weekend of music, food, and community pride. To everyone who came out, danced, ate, and celebrated our amazing neighborhood—THANK YOU for making this one for the history books.

Reflections of the Portland Festival
While it’s been a few weeks since the Portland Festival in early June, you can’t help but still feel the buzz of energy and excitement, the result of an amazing community coming together. And while I did make a brief appearance at the event a couple years ago, this was the first time the Portland Museum and Portland Anchor set up a booth, and it was a wild whirlwind I won’t soon forget, and can’t wait to experience again next year.

Shawnee Post 193 Gives Another Great Year of Easter Egg Hunting at Good Shepherd
5,000 eggs were strategically placed across the yard. A hot meal was provided for everyone that came. Easter Baskets were given to each child, along with a bag of candy. Door prizes were given that included 6 new bicycles. All in all, it was a fantastic day for all of us.
